The 1999 Danish Championship and North European Championship Faaborg Yacht Club

It is a great pleasure for Faaborg Yacht Club together with the X-99 Club and the Danish Yacht Union (Dansk Sejlunion) to invite you to participate in the Danish Championship for X-99 from the 12^th – 15^th August 1999.

Faaborg is situated in the centre of the South Funen archipelago which is a perfect for yacht racing, as a matter of fact, it is one of the best Danish waters for yachting!

The competition is open to everyone, however, the helmsman must be a member of the X-99 Club. In order to participate in the Danish Championship the entire crew must be a member of a yachting club under the Danish Yacht Union (Dansk Sejlunion).

Racing rules:

The ISAF Yacht Racing Rules (RRS) 1997-2000. Danish Sailing Association standard instructions. The racing rules for the Danish Championship for Yachting, and the class rules of the X-99 Club, and the sailing instructions of this competition.

The racecourse:

The racecouse is laid out in the Hanseatic Bay which is approx. 2.5 nautical mile from the landing stage of FaaborgYacht Club. The boats sail in one up/down racecourse.

Races:

We attempt to hold 6 races. There is no reserve day.

Prizes:

The crew on the three Danish winner boats will receive a DS championship plaquette. Furthermore, there is also a prize for every fifth starting boat.

Measurement:

The boats will be measured before the races start.

Insurance:

All participating boats must be insured against third party risks.

Registration:

Fill in the enclosed registration form and send it together with a checque for the entry fee of DKK 900,-, and copy of a valid class certificate, copy of insurance policy, and list of crew with valid club stamp, or the post marked Giro payment order to:

Last punctual payment and registration is the 2nd August 1999.

The list of participants and the rules of the race will be handed out at the competion.

All boats must lie at the landing stage of Faaborg Yacht Club. The boats are free of charge from the day before the race starts until the day after the race has finished. It can be arranged to get a berth from the weekend before at a reduced price.

12.00                  The office at Faaborg Yacht Club opens.

14.00 - 18.00     Inspection of boats.

18.30                  Official opening and shipmaster meeting.

                           Albani sponsors a glass of cold draught beer.

Friday, 13th August 1999.

7.00 - 8.00      Breakfast in the club house.

10.00              Start of the 1^st race of the day.

                       The 2^nd race will start as soon as possible after the end of the 1^st race.

18.30              Barbecue. 

Saturday, 14th August 1999.

7.00 - 8.00     Breakfast in the club house.

10.00              Start of the 1^st race of the day.

                       The 2^nd race will start as soon as possible after the end of the 1^st race.

18.30              Banquet

Sunday, 15th August 1999.

7.00 - 8.00      Breakfast in the club house.

10.00               Start of the 1^st race of the day.

                        The 2^nd race will start as soon as possible after the end of the 1^st race.

Camping site: Camping sites for participant are located at the lawn at Danish Prime. Caravans can be parked at the harbour near the club house.

Toilet and bath: In the Faaborg Yacht Club house.

Crane:                 The harbour crane belonging to Faaborg Harbour can be used according to arrangement.

Lunch packs:           Please place your order at Faaborg Yacht Club.

Cafeteria:         Toast, coffee, buns, cake, ice cream and sweets are for sale in the Faaborg Yacht Club house.
